Yes, Firefox 3.6 is still being updated. Version 3.6.28 was released on 13 March 2012.

I have no problem running Firefox 3.6 on my WinXP PC at the office. Here is the download page:

In the past when I have tried the "I prefer flash" link, it has not helped.

thx for the tip/info!

(and yes, due to this bugginess in the JS API to the player we use for firefox v3.6, unfortunately I think the "I prefer flash" link may have still have had issues, even when it was preferred/detected first. glad that we have a workaround in place now!)
